Amidst the strong current of conventional nursing education in the Philippines which is known to produce and train Registered Nurses with bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, one school dared to swim upstream and pioneer in revolutionizing the Philippine healthcare education with global standards. It opened doors to Filipinos to have an opportunity to work abroad by earning a degree in nursing that parallels the US standards.

In the fist quarter of 2003, the Philippine Paramedical and Technical School (of Davao), Inc. was formed as a private proprietary educational institution and was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Technical Education and Skills Authority (TESDA).

It commenced operation at the Esmar Plaza Building at the junction Pichon (Magallanes) Street and Ilustre Extension, Davao City. It started its first academic program on June 2003 with 15-month Vocational/Practical Nursing (V/PN) as its initial course offering. The first batch of 35 students graduated on September 2004 with no less than President of the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses (NFLPN), Mr. Gregory Howard, coming to Davao City from the United States of America, to be the Guest Speaker during the graduation ceremony held at the Grand Regal Hotel.

Since then, Philippine Paramedical and Technical School have continued to enroll students into its Vocational/Practical Nursing Program.
